Important Information

Here's a gem of knowledge from my 6 year old self from a school report.

A great way to become a vampire is to be born with red hair.

A Good Day

Overall, today was a pretty solid day.

My GPW project finished up today and we presented. The presentation was... average, but the game itself turned out extremely well. I'll be posting a type of postmortem along with the game itself over the next week or so, schedule depending.

On a much, much better note, I logged onto MSN this morning to a message from Greg telling me that he had a job opportunity for me and then he needed to talk to me right away. I messaged him and he told me that Su was looking for someone for a position and she needed to hear from me as soon as possible. I gave her a call, emailed her my resume, and a couple hours later she booked me for an interview on Monday.

I'm both shocked and super stoked to be having an interview there. Hothead is pretty much my dream company in terms of their environment and the types of games they want to create. The shocked part comes from their previous policy of only hiring industry veterans. I had almost completely written off Hothead as a possible source of employment after school due to this. It was left as a future goal after some experience and I never expected to receive an interview even before I'm finished with school.

Hopefully the interview goes well on Monday. I'll be sure to post as soon as I hear anything.

Crushing Blow

Something I've always had great pride in is my level of intelligence. I've always been a really bright person and this was reflected in my school marks as well as my IQ test results which would range from around 150-170, usually clocking in closer to around 160-165. The subject came up today and someone has said that 190 was a ridiculously high IQ and I chimed in saying I was 170 and I'm certainly not some Rainman genius. He didn't believe me, but whatever.

It had been a few years since I'd taken an IQ test so I decided to take one this evening just to see where I'm at. I came in at a measly 120. I was crushed to see that. Just to be certain, I took the test again with a similar result.

How the hell did this happen? It's really bothering me now. I think I might take it again tomorrow with a fresh mind and fresh meds. If it comes up shit again, I'm going to be flexing my brain again to get that shit back up there. I'm barely into the "high intelligence" range anymore.
